Tim Welsh brings more than 25 years of experience as a professional services executive to his role as Senior Vice President of the Industry Strategy Group (ISG) at University of Phoenix. Since joining University of Phoenix in 2009, Tim has led a team of industry experts to:

–Establish education partnerships between industry associations and University of Phoenix to develop and deliver industry-endorsed certification and degree programs nationally and globally.

–Create University of Phoenix partnerships with national and global workforce development groups to enhance job-readiness and workforce competitiveness across multiple economic sectors.

–Conduct collaborative, cutting-edge research to help industry leaders, employers, and working adults create pathways from education to sustainable careers.

Tim currently oversees research and education initiatives in the following industries: manufacturing, information technology, health care, criminal justice, security, energy, retail, hospitality, and education.

Prior to joining University of Phoenix, Tim was a Vice President with SRI International, where he served on the leadership team that launched
SRI Consulting. As a Managing Partner at AT&T Solutions, he had major assignments in Europe, Asia, and Canada. Throughout his career, Tim has been a trusted advisor to executives in industries including financial services, energy, manufacturing, retail, film, and government. He serves as a Board Trustee and educational advisor to U.S. industry associations.

Tim earned a Doctor of Education degree from Harvard University, and completed his doctoral dissertation on strategic marketing management.
He holds a Master of Education degree from the University of Montana,
and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Dickinson College. He also completed post-graduate studies in international affairs at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Bologna, Italy.
