Founding Principal

Rashid Ferrod Davis opened P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) P-TECH as the Founding Principal after more than 15 years of experience working in the New York City Department of Education as a teacher, assistant principal, and, most recently, the Principal of Bronx Engineering and Technology Academy (BETA). Rashid is a 2012 Cahn Fellow from Teachers College Columbia University and a 2012 Education Update Outstanding Administrator of the Year Award Winner. Davis is a graduate of Morehouse College with advanced degrees from Pace University, Teachers College, Columbia University, and Fordham University.

Davis has been on panels for the Annenberg Institute for School Reform, Achieve, Harvard University’s Business School, Change the Education and in August 2012 served was a United States Career and Technical Education Expert representing the United States in the United States-China Career and Technical Education Experts meeting held in Washington, DC. In addition, Davis has received awards from Bronx Community College’s Black Male Initiative, College Summit’s Bridge Building Award and Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems Educator’s Mentorship Award.
