Jeff Hahn is the owner and principal of Hahn, Texas – a 40-year old public relations firm with offices in Austin and San Antonio. Jeff focuses on brand crafting, message development and crisis communications for the firm’s clients and leads the Corporate Services practice area. He is a 23-year PR practitioner.

Prior to joining the firm, he was communications director at Freescale Semiconductor and public affairs director at Motorola Semiconductor. For those companies, as well as with Motorola’s corporate office in Schaumburg, IL and Lockheed Space Operations in Titusville, FL, he served in roles including, government relations, media relations, crisis communication, analyst relations, business operations, employee communications, financial communications and executive communications.

Jeff serves on the Board of Directors of the Austin Marathon and is a member of the Austin Area Research Organization. He serves as a volunteer for the Austin Chamber of Commerce, most recently as its Membership Committee Chair and was the Austin city campaign co-chair for the United Way campaign. He has also served on a number of nonprofit boards in the past including the World Congress on Information Technology, and was Board Chair for LifeWorks in 2003 and for Keep Austin Beautiful in 1998 and 1999. He is also a 2002 graduate of Leadership Austin.

Jeff grew up on a farm in Iowa, moved to Texas in 1984 by enlisting in the United States Air Force and served at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio where he completed an Associates Degree in Administration, then graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 1990 from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is formally trained in persuasion communication and is currently completing his Masters degree in Communication Studies at Texas State University in San Marcos.
